FAQ/Guidelines

1. Is there a charge for reviewing my book?

  • No! Romance Reader at Heart™ does not charge authors/publishers for reviewing.

2. How recent must my book have been published for me to submit it for review?

  • We accept romance books in all sub-genres (except erotica - see note below) for review that are:
    • within 3 months of their publication date to the current date;
    • current releases;
    • upcoming new releases;
    • current re-releases of previously published works;
    • ebook submissions are welcome, following the same criteria as print submissions
  • We currently do not accept short stories. However, we do accept novellas (20,000-50,000 words) for review, and complete anthologies are welcome.

3. How much does it cost to promote my book on the Romance Reader at Heart™ website in the Publisher Section?

  • Romance Reader at Heart™ does not charge for website promotion of current or upcoming releases in our publisher section.‡ This includes the cover image and synop. However, we also offer banner ad rotation for a minimal fee, with many various options available. Authors wishing to promote their work on Romance Reader at Heart™ in this manner should check our advertisting webpage for sizes, rates, examples and placement choices. We also offer banner design.

    ‡Only books submitted for review are eligible for free promotional webspace.

    • Website Promotion:

    Our guidelines for our website promotion of submitted works are as follows (for review guidelines, see section above):

    • ALL authors/publishers who submit their current or upcoming works for review will have their releases and covers displayed, along with links to our review, unless they have indicated otherwise.
    • Books submitted for review which are older than one month from their date of publication at time of submission are NOT eligible for optional promotional webspace.

    All website promotions of eligible submitted releases will stay online a minimum of 30 days, dependent upon the date of release OR the date of our completed review (i.e., a book published and reviewed in December will stay online until February 1st. The same book published in December but not reviewed until January would remain promo'd until March 1st.). In the case of galleys or ARCs submitted, the promos are uploaded upon their receipt and will remain until 30 days after the book's release date.

Important Note: We currently do not review erotica; we will allow a promotional spot on our publisher webpages if it is sent to us directly by the publisher. We do NOT promote or review self-published works.
