One Wild Night

Sometimes chemistry is a matter of life and death....

Though her confidence is badly shaken by a training accident, A. J. Cooper vows to become an excellent T-FLAC operative. She is everything the antiterrorist agency looks for-she's smart, resourceful, and a crack shot. Eager to prove herself to her instructor, the highly regarded Kane Wright, A. J. takes on a difficult and potentially deadly assignment. A success in the field could be just the thing she needs to make her career with the agency-and working so closely with the extraordinary and irresistibly sexy Kane is a fantasy come to life.

Kane Wright is a master of disguise, hiding his powerful attraction for A. J. in the name of professionalism. But when she doesn't bounce back quickly after her accident, Kane's desire becomes concern. In the field, even a moment's hesitation can turn a routine operation into a deadly one. With A. J. taking a lead position in this mission, Kane knows he won't be able to take his eyes off his gorgeous tomboy trainee. Under the hot desert sun, even as they struggle to unravel a madman's devious plot, their long denied passion will finally boil over ....

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

OUT OF SIGHT was much better than Ms. Adair's previous two stories, HIDE AND SEEK and IN TOO DEEP, but still not up to the caliber of her first single title, KISS AND TELL. I have finally come to the conclusion I didn't like the heroines in the last three books. All three ladies came across as silly - not quite TSTL but close.

And maybe I'm not being fair to the heroes of these last three stories. I keep comparing the Wright brothers to Jake Dolan, the hero of KISS AND TELL, and they always come up short. Dolan oozed testosterone without even trying. The Wright brothers seem to try too hard.

The pacing in OUT OF SIGHT was much better than the last two stories. Non-stop action kept the middle from becoming draggy as it did in both HIDE AND SEEK and IN TOO DEEP. However, the romance (if you could call it that) in this latest story was too abrupt as were the declarations at the end.

If you can keep from rolling your eyes at the implausible storyline (two agents save the world from a mad terrorist), OUT OF SIGHT is an enjoyable read. The story is faced-paced with lots of humor. Be warned though, it has its share of gore.
