A Resolute Highlander
Gavin MacGregor, a warrior on the verge of claiming his birthright as laird of his clan, will do whatever's necessary to protect his people. He'll even enter into a marriage of convenience with the sister of a rival chieftain. Heartened by the fact that this union is to remain unconsummated and eventually annulled, his exultation turns to frustration after he meets and inevitably falls in love with his bride but is bound by the pact not to make her his.
A Bold Lass
Hannah Campbell believes their marriage will be filled with glorious promise once Gavin recalls their encounter ten years prior. Confident they can overcome a traumatic past, she is determined to create a harmonious future with her husband. Although he does not remember and rejects her at every turn, she strives to secure her dignity and vows to make him hers.
An Undeniable Love
In the days that lay ahead, the love these two were never meant to share is tested by Gavin's pride, challenged by the conniving schemes and murderous ambition of others, and ultimately willed by Hannah's spirit to flourish and survive.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:
Lori Pepio's debut novel, HIGHLAND HONOR, is a very nice way to introduce herself to the lovers of Historical Romance. She should be proud of her efforts and all the hard work that no doubt went into her book. I enjoyed her writing style as well as the descriptive nature that Pepio seems to have. Its wonderful to feel as though you are seeing historical Scotland up close and personal.
My one issue was, as the story moved along the characters never fully developed as I wanted them to. The heroine, Hannah, cried at least a dozen times and that made it a bit difficult for me to connect with her. The hero, Gavin, though quite sexy, seemed aloof and not as passionate about Hannah as I wished him to be. However, near the end I finally "got" Hannah, as a secret from her past came to light. I liked her and the relationship she shared with Gavin much more after that.
I like tension and intrigue in my reading and this offered me a bit of both. I have no doubt that this is the beginning of a promising career for a new voice in romance.
