Finally Sam and Alyssa's story is told! Sam Starret's life is blown completely out of the water when his ex-wife is presumed dead along with his two year old child, Haley, over alledged terrorist involvment. Unfortunatley Sam is implicated in the whole mess. He is totally obsessed with proving the two are still alive, and refuses to turn himself in until he finds them. As a Navy SEAL, this is definitely not a stellar career move. Topping it all off, he is thrown together with Alyssa, the only woman he ever loved, and who he also left to marry his now ex-wife. Showing absolutely no signs of forgiveness, Alyssa is determined to do her job, then wash her hands of him forever.
Again this fabulous author does not disappoint. The long awaited saga of Sam and Alyssa is well worth the angst the readers have endured waiting for their story to be told. The suspense in this novel is totally spellbinding, and the characters become people you've known forever, and soon care very much about. It also should be noted, the subplots are as intriguing and heart-stopping as the main story! Definitely a keeper, as are all her others -- but take note: This one is by far one of the best she's written and not to be missed!
