Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis
LOVE CAN HAPPEN IN A HEARTBEAT

Grace never thought she'd be starting her life over from scratch. Losing everything has landed her in Lucky Harbor, working as a dog walker for overwhelmed ER doctor Josh Scott. But the day his nanny fails to show up, Grace goes from caring for Josh's lovable mutt to caring for his rambunctious son. Soon Grace is playing house with the sexy single dad . . .

With so many people depending on him, Josh has no time for anything outside of his clinic and family-until Grace arrives in town. Now this brainy blonde is turning his life inside out and giving a whole new meaning to the phrase "good bedside manner." Josh and Grace don't know if what they have can last. But in a town like Lucky Harbor, a lifetime of love starts with just one day . . .

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Grace has lived in Lucky Harbor for months attempting to find a job.  While searching for a permanent position, she fills her time doing temp assignments in town.  When the opportunity to make extra money by being Dr. Josh Scott’s dog walker and then babysitter arises, she grabs onto it.  Josh has spent the last few years taking care of his son, his wheelchair bound sister, and most of the town.  It’s lead to a life that is beyond busy.  But he can’t resist Grace, especially when she declares that she’s looking for fun, and he isn’t it.

I went directly for FOREVER AND A DAY after gushing over AT LAST, the previous book in the Lucky Harbor series.  Though I didn’t love it in the same way that I loved AT LAST, I definitely liked it.  Grace and Josh are extremely hot together with smoke practically coming off the pages.  Jill Shalvis does a good job of each character coming into their own over the course of the story and realizing what they wanted in their lives.  I enjoyed the scenes of Grace taking care of Josh, Toby  (who was an adorable kid), and Anna.  The characters fit together easily.  I just wanted a bit more of Josh and Grace alone together when they weren’t burning up the sheets.
