RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

Wow! I am still in shock from THE VAMPIRE'S BETRAYAL. Now mind you, I know there is another book following this one (Right??!!) so circumstances can change, but right now, the way BETRAYAL ends... well, I am dumbfounded.

To make you understand a bit about what I mean without giving too much away, is to liken this feeling to the one I experienced after reading Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter book, SEIZE THE NIGHT. I was completely blind sided by events in that book—deaths in particular—and that is what Raven Hart has done to me here. Sure, that kind of drama makes for a great read, but it also shakes up things so much that sometimes I struggle to continue a series. But, my curiosity and the hope of a happy—well, somewhat happy ending being possible—will force me to continue.

Anyway, as for the rest of the story, well, the plot thickens with the ancient vamps against mankind while the love story with Connie and Jack is more doomed than ever. All of that, combined with voodoo, demons, double-damned hell dwelling vampires and a slew of other revelations, makes THE VAMPIRE'S BETRAYAL a front runner for one of the most enthralling vampire books I have ever read.
