THE ONE I WANT Author: Nancy Warren ISBN: 9780758210456 5/2008 CONTEMPORARY Publisher: KENSINGTON
THE ONE I WANT by Nancy Warren is absolutely delightful! A fast, fun romantic romp, it features a transplanted Londoner and a handsome-as-sin Texan. Matthew is a man with a girlfriend he can't lose and a few issues from his past that dog him. Chloe has tried every profession she can think of and has realized none of them appeal to her—at all. And, she hasn't found a man yet who can hold her attention long enough for her to agree to marry him. So when Chloe decides to head for Austin, Texas and do what she does best, it's a last-ditch attempt at pulling her life together. She decides to embark on a career doing what she does best. She hires out as a "break-up artist" and that's where the madcap adventure really takes off! Chloe proves she's just as good at breaking up other people's romances as she's been at sabotaging her own. The problem, for Chloe, begins when she and Matthew begin to see each other in more than the typical landlord/tenant fashion. These characters sizzle but their involvement does not come at the expense of anyone else, something I particularly appreciated. This story is just good fun, a pleasure to read. Kay James |
