RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR STRUTTING is a perfectly delightful anthology. Lisa Cach, Gemma Halliday and Melanie Jackson each contribute one short, sexy contemporary romance to the volume. Separately, each story is a treat. Combined, the trio makes for an experience that is so entertaining I hated to see it end.

In this day and age, a website can do many things. When a website dedicated to bringing out the goddess inside every woman—via a pair of gorgeous, magical shoes—comes into the lives of three women, the ordinary attributes of websites are forgotten. It also pushes to the background any idea that shoes are intended to cradle the feet. The world-changing footwear that's delivered courtesy of hiheelia.com holds more than these women's toes. They hold their dreams and give the extra oomph! they need to make those dreams come true. Yes, THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR STRUTTING is definitely a Dorothy, Wizard of Oz kind of story. Each of the stories show that within every woman lurks the power to unlock her inner goddess and attain her fondest desire. Still, this adult version of the old story is much more entertaining than the ruby red slipper tale. And there are no flying monkeys in this story, either.

The talents of Ms. Jackson, Ms. Halliday and Ms. Cach turn shoes and three ordinary women into creatures we'd all—I'm sure—love to be, even if only for a short while. They make landscaping, dancing—and even drowning—sound like fun! THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR STRUTTING is a great read. I wouldn't mind if one day a shoebox was delivered to my door with the Higheelia logo on it, that's for certain!
