RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

Readers will want to pour themselves a tall glass of a cold drink before reading THE HOT LINE by Cathryn Fox, as it is one hot, sexy book!

The Hot Line is a service the firefighters at Chicago’s station 419 have set up to fulfill women’s fantasies when they call. And as three friends of Cassie Williams converge on the Windy City to help her out with her pending nuptials to Nick Cameron, also a firefighter, they will find out just how good the guys down at 419 are at making all a woman’s fantasies come true! Though one novel, there are three different stories within, each for one of Cassie’s friends and the sexy firefighter they call to their rescue.

In Fever, small-town reporter Sara Jack is looking for a story she can submit to Entice, a Chicago based magazine for sexually empowered women. So when she hears about The Hot Line, Sara thinks she’s found the perfect topic to write about. And even better is the fact that ruggedly handsome Mitch Adams will come to put out her flames. But does this playboy just want to have some fun with her or is he the real deal?

Siren is the story of Jenna Powers, a clothing designer about to come out with a new line of sexy lingerie. When her model turns up sick, Jenna is forced to wear her own delicious designs, even though insecurities from her past still linger. But all firefighter Dean Beckman sees is a beautiful woman he wants to get to know better. So when Jenna calls for help out of some tight lingerie, Dean is more than willing to rescue her…and bring out the wild woman he knows Jenna really is. Will the sensual games Dean proposes be too much for Jenna, or will she surprise him with a few games of her own?

And in the last story, Flash Fire, divorcee Megan Wagner has seen all three of her close friends fall for a firefighter from station 419, but she wants nothing to do with commitment. But she wouldn’t mind spending some horizontal time with gorgeous Brady Wade and the feeling is definitely mutual. Only, Dean wants more than just a few nights with Megan. Will he be able to convince the sexy chef that he can put out her flames for the rest of their lives?

THE HOT LINE is an erotic tale with the sexiest of heroes: firefighters. That alone made this book one that would get a special spot on my keeper shelf. Cassie and her fiancé Nick act as matchmakers for their respective friends. And The Hot Line is a great way for these couples to get together. Okay, so reality has to be suspended big time for the premise of this story to work. I doubt taxpaying citizens would be pleased to learn that firefighters are leaving the job to go and create fantasies with strange women they receive calls from over the phone. But if you can get past that, then this novel will be one that you will enjoy immensely. I caution readers that this book is steamy hot, so don’t forget your cold drink (and maybe a fan if you can get one). You will definitely need a way to cool yourself off after reading Cathryn Fox’s THE HOT LINE.
