Sarah McCarty brings readers a story of three men of a different breed and the three sisters that charm them out of their norm in RUNNING WILD.

Donovan, Kelon, and Wyatt are all Weres, which are werewolves, who follow certain traditions, the biggest of which is that they cannot mate with someone that is not of their kind. But they are each thrown for a loop when they meet human women that awaken desires within them that are hard to control. The three women are sisters; Lisa, Robin, and Heather have moved into town to make a go of a new bed and breakfast. None of them counted on meeting these sexy, predatory men that are intent on taking care of them, even if they can take care of themselves.

Donovan meets Lisa one night in a bar as she comes to defend the honor of her sister, Robin, against the man who hurt her. Once Donovan sets his sights on her, the attraction is instant, though not mutual. As Donovan follows her outside into the cold night air, he must deal with the fact that the woman who has caught his attention is a human, a big no-no in his culture.

Kelon comes down from the mountains with his pack to help Donovan out. He doesn't count on meeting Robin, a beautiful but scarred woman who grabs his attention immediately. As he learns about her past and her future, he knows he must take things slow with Robin and commits himself to her. He will do anything to protect the woman that is his, even giving his life if he has to.

Wyatt is the leader of his pack of Weres and must account for their safety. Heather is a non-believer of the Weres after being told by her sisters and their respective mates. Even after a delicious night spent in the arms of Wyatt, she still thinks they are all crazy. But Wyatt manages to prove her right, even as he has to do battle for the survival of the new pack they have formed with human mates.

I enjoyed RUNNING WILD. This was the first novel I had read from author Sarah McCarthy, though it will not be my last. This one is a scorcher, so have a tall glass of tea ready when you curl up with this erotic paranormal romance from Berkley's Heat line of books. I liked all three males as they were very much Alpha heroes, strong and protective of their woman from the start. The biggest issue each deals with is the fact that the women they have come to love are human, which is not allowed in their culture. Each of the women was more different in personality. Lisa is headstrong and willing to go into battle even if she is the David to the Goliath. Robin has been hurt and is tentative in letting someone new in, though the attraction to Kelon helps in a big way. And Heather is a skeptic for much of her story, but eventually comes around.
