No One Lives Forever by Jordan Dane

Born to a life pitted by violence, a man desperately seeks peace to move on. He's fallen in love with a Chicago homicide detective, but just when he embarks on a new life, his old one comes calling. A mysterious and beautiful assassin barges into his downtown Chicago flat, attempting to collect on an old marker. She confesses the true identity of his crime boss father—a name kept secret by his mother—and begs his help to free the man kidnapped in Brazil. The ransom note gives him only ten days to attempt an impossible rescue. Will he risk his future to discover his past?

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

NO ONE LIVES FOREVER picks up where NO ONE LEFT TO TELL ends. Yep, that means the same dull characters, monotony and tiredness of its storyline, too.

While reading this one is an okay way to kill a rainy afternoon, NO ONE LIVES FOREVER lacks the nail-biting suspense it brags about. Despite what should be exciting plot twists, it seems to drag on forever and goes nowhere. I know that sounds strange, but compare it to running in place.

Anyway, with less than memorable characters and scenes that should jump off the page, but incredibly enough turn out bland, I am grateful "NO ONE LIVES FOREVER".
