Lizzie is a nice, somewhat drab, mousy kind of woman who is a secretary to a high-powered, driven businessman intent on sealing his next deal. To call Cormac "ruthless" is right on target. When he realizes his business deal would go better with a wife, he presses Lizzie into service. He is less than forthright about the arrangement, and somewhat devious in his seducing of the lovely Lizzie, but he's definitely a man used to getting what he wants. The scheme turns personal and Cormac can be very charming when he sees fit.

Set in the Caribbean, with lots of flavor to make the reader feel and see the scenery, this is a hot, sexy story with enough edge to make it realistic. There are no shortcuts in this romance; Lizzie is genuinely angered by Cormac's suggestion she lie about being his wife. He, on the other hand, hides his true self so wonderfully, I often doubted he had any conscience at all. They are a perfect pairing, light with darkness, and there is much room for transformation.
