A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action by LuAnn McLane

There's nothing that good hair can't fix...

Macy is starting to lose faith. The chance to be with the love of her life—her best friend's brother—is slipping through her fingers. College football coach Luke Carter has a penchant for hotbodied babes, not curvy hairdressers such as Macy. And some big-time schools may be luring him away from Hootertown.

.... or that a good woman can't untangle.

But then a country-singing sensation's hair emergency turns into an unexpected big break for Macy. Making it in Nashville boosts Macy's confidence, but her feelings for Luke have her all knotted up inside. And when he interviews for a job at a local university, Macy will have to put up or shut up—or lose him forever.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

Lu Ann McLane is an unrivaled success at whipping up a down-home, knee-slapping, rip-roaring good romance. A LITTLE LESS TALK AND A LOT MORE ACTION is pure fun, from start to finish. And you don't even have to love country music to love this story!

This is a circular story, beginning in one spot and ending in a similar situation, but with great improvements and much growth happening along the journey from point A to point B. I love stories like this, where characters don't stagnate. Yes, this is without a doubt a rollicking romantic tale, but it's also a story that shows family and friends are some of the greatest gifts anyone can have.

Readers are introduced to Macy, a woman who has a dream but not quite enough faith in herself to grab what she wants, as well as her family and friends. She goes from one sticky situation to the next, and all the while I wondered whether or not anything was going to work out for her. At times it looks like it will, but at other times Macy seems more destined for spinsterhood than love. She's got loads of encouraging, "helpful" onlookers, some with such over-the-top suggestions I couldn't keep a straight face. Jamie Lee's "slip him the tongue" advice nearly made me choke! I loved it that the characters each had different voices—and all spoke so loudly!

But I guess the thing I enjoyed the most about A LITTLE LESS TALK AND A LOT MORE ACTION was the developing relationship between Macy and her father. Macy finds exactly what she needs, what she deserves, in every aspect of her life. That includes her family bonds, which is an added bonus to a wonderful romantic romp.

LuAnn McLane has a hit with A LITTLE LESS TALK AND A LOT MORE ACTION. A fast, fun read, it left this reader smiling.
