I have to admit that I am a sucker for any Scottish medieval romance. I just love the brawny, over-the-top alpha males with their sexy accents, not to mention the kilts and the fierce honor that these warriors exhibit! Broderick is the perfect alpha male. He is everything that I love in my romance heroes. He’s strong, alpha to the bone and a respected leader to his clan. But, even though he is definitely alpha through and through, he is also a man with faults and weakness, and it is these very things that make him so endearing to the reader—I swear I am in love with this man!

Lizbeth is the perfect heroine for our intense, tortured hero. She is feisty and strong and has an enormous amount of courage. She wants to save her father's soul (her father is the high Executioner), and at the same time save this gorgeous Highlander from his awful fate. She escapes with him from his captivity and besides just out running the bad guys, they find that they are becoming more and more attracted to one another. The chemistry is practically combustible!

One of the best things about this book is the transformation in Lizbeth from beginning to end. She goes from being a little mousy type of girl to woman who is worthy of a powerful laird like Broderick. HER ONE DESIRE is full of fabulous elements—such as an unwanted betrothal, secrets kept by parties, a scheming, sneaky villain, fabulous sexual chemistry and great secondary characters! It is also a fast paced and ADDICTIVE read. One minute you will be opening the first page, and four hours later you will be looking at the last page of the book and wondering where the time went! This is a phenomenal debut book from Kimberly Killion and I cannot wait to read whatever she comes up with next!
