THE GREEK TYCOON'S CONVENIENT BRIDE Author: Kate Hewitt ISBN: 0373127227 4/2008 CONTEMPORARY Publisher: HARLEQUIN
THE GREEK TYCOON’S CONVENIENT BRIDE by Kate Hewitt is more than just a run-of-the-mill romance. There is a dash of mystery and intrigue, and a good measure of adventure thrown in. An old friendship, a new baby and an untimely death throw Rhiannon Davies into a situation she’d never thought to be in. Her good friend named a wealthy Greek tycoon as her baby’s father just before she died, leaving Rhiannon, the baby’s guardian, to sort the whole mess out. Rhiannon goes to see Lukas, determined to do what’s right for little Annabel. She and Lukas feel an instant attraction when they finally begin to speak. Instead of making this less complicated, the chemistry between them brings even more confusion to the situation. I enjoyed this because although the situation at first glance appears to be pretty straightforward, it’s not. There is more to the baby’s conception, and as a result, her future, than Rhainnon’s dead friend would have her think. Rhiannon is selfless and concerned only for the baby she has already grown to love. Lukas realizes almost from the first that getting a woman pregnant without regard for her or the child is something his nephew is capable of doing. Despite the twists those around them throw their way, Lukas and Rhiannon feel an obligation to Annabel. It is more than an ordinary love story at work here. There is a twist at the end that left me with my mouth hanging open, but I’m not going to divulge what it is. I’ll just say that THE GREEK TYCOON’S CONVENIENT BRIDE is well-written, engaging and more than initially meets the eye. Much more. Kay James |
