Born to be Wilde by Janelle Denison

Ex-Marine turned security specialist Joel Wilde thrives on the high-wire thrills that come with his job. And he isn’t about to give all that up to settle down—not even with a sexy woman like Lora Marshall. Which means that while he’s protecting her from a violent gang, he’ll need to set a few ground rules to keep things professional. Good thing he’s always been a rule-breaker at heart.

The last thing Lora Needs is a hard-to-resist man with a history of breaking hearts. Before she knows it, though, she's indulging in a sultry tryst with her hot-blooded bodyguard. But the close she gets to Wilde, the more she wonders if he'll ever be tamed...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

I have read all of the Wilde novels, and this one, by far, takes the cake! One word summed up the entire book for me... Hot!

Joel Wilde is an ex-marine running his own security business, when he receives a phone call from an old recruit, asking for help. It seems this guy is caught up in a bad situation with gambling and has gone so far as to gamble his sister's life insurance away. So, while he is worried about the goon going after his sister and killing her for money, he is also worried about who will protect her. This is when Joel comes in. He is supposed to basically bodyguard the sister until the all clear is given.

Zack's sister, Lora, is the target and she becomes the body that Joel is to guard. (A few things left out here: Lora is a little burned out on men and she works all the time, so taking time out to go out on a "date" with Joel is difficult.) The sparks fly between Joel and Lora, and they walk around them in this novel. If you are looking for a story where the heroine is a strong woman with a head on her shoulders who can contribute to helping Joel keep her safe, you have found the right book.

I loved this book, and although I have read all of the other Wilde books, I think Denison gives the readers an extremely hot, strong heroine and an equally yummy hero.

It's no wonder the sparks fly. This book is full of wit and humor and a combination of family secrets, such as Zack not wanting Lora to find out what he has done. I think Denison has scored a Top Pick read with BORN TO BE WILDE through all of the humor, mystery, and sexual tension it contains. She has truly outdone herself.
