Over Hexed by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Banished. Until their unconventional techniques landed them in hot water, Dorcas and Ambrose were the matchmaking sex therapists for lovelorn witches and wizards. The Grand High Wizard has exiled them to the very conventional and unmagical town of Big Knob, Indiana, Pop. 947. But that doesn't mean they've given up matchmaking.

Now they're doing it for mere mortals-although all agree: Sean Madigan is something of a god. Because he's tired of being the town sex object, Dorcas and Ambrose strip him of his appeal and then introduce him to his destiny, Maggie Grady. This time winning a girl's heart won't be so easy for Sean. It means rediscovering the charms buried beneath a gorgeous surface, and finally proving himself to be more of a man than ever before.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

Charmed! That's exactly what this novel is! Vicki Lewis Thompson delivers quite a different idea from her past novels. OVER HEXED is a delicious story of Sean and Maggie, a Texas Hold-em playing dragon, a wizard who rides a scooter, a dancing black cat, and a witch who rides a Kama Sutra broom.

Sean is fine specimen of the male species, who finds himself frustrated with women throwing themselves at him because of his looks. He makes a deal with Ambrose and Dorcas, the witch and wizard, to make him less attractive to women. After drinking a potion, Sean notices little changes that start curbing women's sexual advances. Enter Maggie.

Maggie is a location agent, searching for the perfect place to build a chain grocery store. She is feisty, smart-mouthed, and cannot lose this location or it will cost her job. The location she is scouting just happens to be the same property that Sean plans on buying. With a little magic and destiny thrown in from Ambrose and Dorcas, Sean finds himself missing his sexual magnetism when he desperately needs it to win Maggie over. Sean is forced to find other qualities to persuade Maggie to his side, but Maggie is dealing with issues of her own. Maggie and Sean begin a no strings relationship that quickly builds into more passion than either of them realize, and find they have more at risk then a piece of property—their hearts.

This novel was brilliant. I laughed until I cried and it was a very fast read for me. This genre is the beginning of a new series for Thompson, and if this novel is any indication of the following books, then Thompson has hit the jackpot. OVER HEXED is a refreshing novel that will leave the reader more than fulfilled.
