What an absolute ride! This is my second novel by Lois Greiman—I loved the first one, but I love UNMANNED even more. Psychologist Christina McMullen is used to getting hit on—by men. But now the tables have turned and she has "a hit" on her. A total stranger is gunned down in front of Christina, right at her front door. Christina is not expecting the trouble she is about to be in, especially involving her brother, Pete. Pete has a link to the dead man and many more secrets that he's hiding from Christina. Unless he shares those secrets with his sister, the lives of both Peter and Christina could be threatened. Greiman makes Christina's character everything a woman would want to be—she's beautiful, smart, talented, and independent. UNMANNED was a delightful read from beginning to end. It has humor, action and suspense. It has a simple story line that is easy to follow. You could not ask for a better contemporary mystery, especially with all the elements that make a great book. UNMANNED is a keeper! Kym Oetting |
