The Down Home Zombie Blues by Linnea Sinclair

Bahia Vista homicide detective Theo Petrakos thought he’d seen it all. Then a mummified corpse and a room full of futuristic hardware sends Guardian Force commander Jorie Mikkalah into his life. Before the night’s through, he’s become her unofficial partner—and official prisoner—in a race to save the earth. And that’s only the start of his troubles.

Jorie’s mission is to stop a deadly infestation of biomechanical organisms from using Earth as its breeding ground. If she succeeds, she could save a world and win a captaincy. But she’ll need Theo’s help, even if their unlikely partnership does threaten to set off an intergalactic incident.

Because if she fails, she’ll lose not just a planet and a promotion, but a man who’s become far more important to her than she cares to admit.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

If I read more books like this one, I just may become a true fan of futuristic science fiction romances. THE DOWN HOME ZOMBIE BLUES is a great romance, with a fast-paced, action-driven plot, smooth-talking characters, and filled with zombies, those that hunt zombies, and a Florida like nothing I could ever have imagined. This book is fun, and I felt more like I was riding the roller coaster at Coney Island than sitting on my back porch reading.

Commander Jorie Mikkalah is a woman who knows how to take control. She transports herself and her team between worlds, courtesy of an intergalactic battle cruiser, as easily as some women move children from playground to piano lessons. Her passion is hunting zombies. That is, until she meets Sergeant Theo Petrakos. There's nothing zombie-like about the handsome homicide detective but, nonetheless, sparks fly fast and furious when the pair comes together.

THE DOWN HOME ZOMBIE BLUES is edge-of-your-seat entertainment at its best. I loved every minute of reading this, and I can honestly say that Linnea Sinclair has gained a fan in this reader. This is one book that I will read-and enjoy-again.
