Getting Some by Kayla Perrin

Lucky Annelise may be having the best sex of her life with her new man, but she can't help noticing her two closest friends and her sister—fresh from very recent, very public breakups—are miserable. So she does what any good friend would do: plans a girls' weekend in Vegas!

In a town that emphasizes hedonism, Lishelle is sorely tempted. Between sensual masseurs and private exotic dancers... how's a girl to choose? She finally lets her guard down and beds the perfect guy for a no-strings-attached affair: a sexy rapper looking for a good time with no questions asked.

Meanwhile, Claudia is busy getting her groove on with a younger man who makes her laugh. Even better he's eager to please and—much to her delight—wants her to be in control in the bedroom.

It's Samera who hits the jackpot, though, hooking up with a high roller and finishing off the night with him in his luxury suite. But Rusty has a dark side, and Samera can't get home to Atlanta—and away from Rusty's dangerous friends—fast enough.

But once the friends return form Sin City, they all receive threatening notes, suggesting someone has been watching them all along. Maybe this time what happened in Vegas won't stay in Vegas...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Perrin delivers a solid, enjoyable novel with GETTING SOME. This is a story of four ladies who are friends that takes the reader down an intriguing emotional path, from sorrow to ecstasy and back again.

Annelise is just recovering from a marriage of torment. She falls into Dominic's arms after her husband goes to jail for embezzlement. After finding happiness, Annelise wants the same thing for her sister and two friends. So, the group heads off to Las Vegas for a little naughty fun.

Lishelle gives in and has an affair with a younger man, despite her conscience. Claudia has an affair with a man named Arnold, who is a sizzling hot ride that frees her broken heart and allows it to soar in orgasmic waves of pure passion. Lastly, Samera, is still aching from her recent breakup with Reed. She thinks that a reconciliation with Reed is what she truly wants. Giving in to the spirit of Vegas, Samera tumbles into an affair with Rusty that endangers her life.

This novel is probably the most complex erotica I have ever read. However, Perrin writes a fast paced, adventurous novel. The sex scenes were well written and the characters explore the aspects of sexual fantasy. I cannot say this is a book that I would pick up on my own and read, but I am so very glad that I had a chance to sample Perrin's work—it was well worth it.
