DREAMS OF FOREVER, the first book in the Forever series, is one of the first romance releases from new publisher Lavender Isis. It is available electronically or in paperback. The press is marketing itself as more on the continuum of literature rather than commercial fiction and that can be seen in Linda Ballard's first release. It's a lush, poetic novel that will leave you eager for the next installment in the series.

We are in the movie business, which is an arena Ballard knows well since she is a personal assistant to an actor. This sweet romance tells the first installment of director Rachel West and movie star Daniel Hunter's love story. We also have the start of another romance between personal assistant Peter Hunter and movie star Jackie Turner.

They are all working on a film shoot in a small town. Rachel is a hot romantic comedy director with what appears to be a very troubled personal life. We don't get nearly enough details about her mysteries and this is one of the reasons you'll have to read the next Forever book. Ballard does a fabulous job of teasing us, but never quite lets us in on the secret. Daniel Hunter is the perfect hero, the guy we all wish those larger-than-life movie stars were. In fact, he's too good for Rachel, and I want him for my own!

The writing is luxurious and each chapter begins with a poetic few sentences about the power of the characters' love for each other.

If you've been looking for a book that digs into the intricate character-driven details of romance rather than focusing on heavy plot or cutesy hooks, this is the book for you!
