When asked to read and review a book from one of our own reviewers, Heather Hiestand, I admit that I was a bit nervous. What if I didn't like it? How can I objectively review a book by someone who I review with and talk to frequently? So, I did what I had to. I put it aside until I talked myself into being able to read it and not think about who wrote it. It worked. I sat down and read CARDS NEVER LIE and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I am so lucky that I was able to read and review the debut book by Heather Hiestand, and see for myself first hand what a wonderfully talented author she is.

Heather Hiestand's CARDS NEVER LIE, is an all around great read! It's funny, witty, sexy and smart. It's no wonder that I loved CARDS NEVER LIE. It has a creative plot, a unique setting and captivating characters. Not only that, there's some pretty hot sex scenes, too! Really, who wouldn't want to read about a woman who is told that her Mr. Right could be the devil, gets stuck in the same hotel while an adult convention is taking place, and is in the brink of losing her job? Heather Hiestand pulled out the punches for her debut book and it shows.

Melanie Vanderpool is ready to live the wild life. She goes to see a physic, and during her tarot card reading the physic tells her that her soul mate is the devil! Not the devil incarnate, but someone who may be a bit more outgoing than she is used to, especially in the bedroom. While taking that bit of information in stride, Melanie meets up with her assistant, Jill, who has some pretty interesting news to tell her herself. It seems that Melanie is going to be staying at a hotel in Vegas where, at the same time, her bath and beauty product conference is going on. There is also an adult industry conference going on as well.

Before Melanie leaves for Vegas, she is informed that her company isn't doing well and if the products don't start selling, she may be losing her job. Taking that bit of information with her, Melanie knows she has to keep her head focused on her job. How can she, when handsome Tommy Joe from Product Development is her partner during this trip? It only gets better for Melanie when she meets a man at the adult convention that fits the bill for being the devil himself and is definitely attracted to him.

Melanie's life is about to become wild, as she wanted it to be. Why? Because during her trip, she is mistaken for a porn star, gets a bit hot and heavy with not one man, but two, and is finding out some interesting secrets about her company.

I'm not going to go into any more detail about CARDS NEVER LIE. It's such a great book that you have to read it to find out what happens to Melanie and her devil. I highly recommend getting yourself a copy of Heather Hiestand's CARDS NEVER LIE. I foresee that you will enjoy this book as much as I did!
