THE BARE TRUTH Author: Elizabeth Clarke ISBN: 0843956720 3/2007 HISTORICAL Publisher: DORCHESTER
THE BARE TRUTH by Elizabeth Clarke, is one of those historical romances that sets the bar for all the rest of them. It was so well written that I felt as if I, too, was experiencing every scene along with her characters. Set in England in the late 1800's, it is a rags-to-riches story that made me laugh, cry and wave my fist when the heroine finally triumphs over the circumstances of her life. The love scenes are hot and steamy without being overdone. Although I could go on at length about what a great tale this is, I won't. I'll merely say that once you begin to read about Juliette Garrison, street urchin cum lady's maid, you will fall in love with her. THE BARE TRUTH is an excellent book and I know I will read—and enjoy—it again. Kay James |
