SAVAGE INTRIGUE Author: Cassie Edwards ISBN: 0843955368 6/2007 HISTORICAL Publisher: DORCHESTER
Very disappointing. I have read several of Cassie Edwards books and it is almost always the same. A poor white woman falls in love with an Indian, their love is taboo, and her life is in danger. Sheleen, the weak heroine, is rescued in the woods by Chief Midnight Wolf and feels that she has finally found a place to call home amongst his village. She falls in love with Chief Midnight Wolf and longs for his strong, bronze arms. However, her world is upturned and she puts an entire village on the line when two men are tracking her. If you have read one Cassie Edward's story, you have basically read them all. The concept is the same, but the type of Indian tribe changes and of course, the setting and the names of the characters. This was a sappy tale, weak, and almost made me want to poke my eye out. I felt like I had wasted my time reading the story and it left me wanting a whole lot more. Kym Oetting |
