GIDEON Author: Jacquelyn Frank ISBN: 0821780662 6/2007 PARANORMAL Publisher: ZEBRA/DORCHESTER
After having read Jacki Frank's JACOB, I was sure that she would have a heck of a time getting it that good again for GIDEON. Boy, am I glad I got that wrong! GIDEON is like a delicious little secret; it just feels so good, so right. I was drawn in from the first word and kept enthralled from start to finish! I love everything about the Nightwalkers, from their ability to shift to the absolute power and strength of their entire species! Gideon is such a wonderful example of that power. He is tall and gorgeous, the healer of the group and I have fallen completely in love with him. The man is sex on a stick! For as long as he has fought his attraction to Legna, he has known that there was something special there. What that special thing is, he wasn't quite sure, but it is there regardless. When he finally realizes what it is that is going on between them, he cannot believe it, but you can bet your bottom dollar he isn't letting go of his discovery, whether Legna and every Nightwalker in the world disagrees or not. Legna, even with all of her Nightwalker toughness, has never stopped having feelings for Gideon—even though it has been years since the two of them got lost in a soul-searing kiss. She is never more aware of any other man like she is Gideon, and that is a mystery for her. You would think that with all of the power and strength at her disposal she would be able to get over one silly little kiss. Never did she imagine the outcome of that one, solitary kiss on her entire life, her entire being. I also love how the first book is tied into Gideon. While Jacob's story definitely takes back burner to Gideon, the entire plot of the story brings Gideon and Legna together and forces them to make some big decisions. Don't get me wrong, Gideon is definitely a stand alone book, but I love to revisit old friends and keep reacquainted, so that was an added bonus for me! In GIDEON I am sure Jacki Frank has got a mega-hit with paranormal lovers everywhere! The Nightwalkers are fantastic and I am loving the progression of these storylines. I can hardly wait for Elijah's story which will be out later this year! Kristal Gorman |
