RANGER'S WOMAN is the new release by erotic author Samantha Winston. I believe this is the first book where one of the main characters is a boat. A lot of what RANGER’S WOMAN is about takes place in and around this boat, called the Ranger. Marine and Scott heat up the pages of this book, and I have to admit that the thought of fooling around on a boat never seemed tempting to me until now! Marine's life revolves around the Ranger. She charters the boat to tourists and vacationers, and her dream is to one day own the boat and have it all to herself. Her world suddenly shifts when the owner decides to sell it. Handling the loss of her beloved boat and the break up of a relationship that was anything but loving, Marine now has to pull herself together even more to get past this breaking point in her life. What she doesn't expect is that the man who may own this boat is selfish, arrogant, tall, sexy, and is doing crazy things to Marine's sense of control. Scott thinks all women are the same, and since the loss of his fiancé, he hasn't been able to let himself love again. Although Marine is beautiful and smart, he can't help but distrust her actions toward him. As much as they don't seem to like each other, they can't deny that the sex between them is incredible and maybe there is more to each other than what they each believe there to be. When a disaster falls upon the Ranger, Marine is going to have some tough questions to ask herself, and the fragile relationship that she built with Scott is going to be pushed to the limit. At first, I was a bit put off by the sex between Marine and Scott. I didn't feel a connection between them and Scott wasn't all that likable in the beginning. As the story progressed and I learned more of Marine and Scott's background, everything soon fell into place and the story became very riveting to me. What happens between Scott and Marine really tests their love, and although the sex is quite graphic, it doesn't take away from the story that Winston is telling. I found myself drawn into this story, and when it was over, I wanted to know about Scott and Marine's life together. RANGER'S WOMAN by Samantha Winston is a really good contemporary that heats up at just the right places! Julie Kornhausl |
