After gorging mostly on murder mysteries, romantic suspense and serial killers for review assignments, it is a nice change of pace to immerse myself in Darlene Gardner.

Ms. Gardner writes fabulous, real-life characters readers can care about (or maybe not care about).

The romantic couple in THE OTHER WOMAN'S SON are likeable, finely drawn characters who have a somewhat rocky road toward love—especially considering these two's family connection. Ms. Gardner likes to create an intriguing family situation to see how characters react to it... and each other.

Although Jenna Wright and Clay Dillion are great characters, Darcy Wright, half-sister to both Jenna and Clay, steals the show in this warm, lively story.

THE OTHER WOMAN'S SON is a charmer. Ms. Gardner does sweet just right and extremely well.
