Hoara Felin is traveling through space with two crew members when her ship starts to fall apart. Her only choice is to crash land on a notorious criminal colony planet. People are sent there to live and die as they will with minimal technology. Both the colony and the notorious Shapeshifter people are the horror stories people tell their children in her culture.

Her friends dead in the crash, Hoara is quite suspicious and very alone when she awakes, but she's cared for by a human-appearing man named Toh. She can't believe he has a criminal nature and starts to wonder about the history she's been taught. Unfortunately, many on the planet are as bad as expected, and soon she has to go on the run. Toh gives up everything for his new love and continues to help her.

I found the world building fascinating in this novella, with its hints of politics, science and religion, and I hope Augustin continues to develop it. Toh is a great romantic hero, and his sensual abilities will delight erotic romance fans. Augustin has a hit with ON BLISS!
