The Death List by Paul Johnston

Writer's block is nothing compared to the sinister assignment London-based novelist Matt Wells has just received. A chain of seemingly innocent e-mails from a devoted fan turns deadly when Matt discovers the correspondent is a cold-blooded killer with an agenda for murder—and his family and friends are among the scheduled victims.

Under close surveillance, Matt is plunged into a plot more twisted than any he has used in his novels. This is the real thing, and with each killing, the man known as the White Devil tightens his grip by incriminating Matt at the murder scenes. Cast not only as the ghostwriter of his persecutor's terrifying story, but as the victim, Matt needs to risk everything to protect his loved ones. But with the police closing in and his friends being picked off, he is running out of time. The White Devil is out there ...and he's watching.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Picks

Johnston's thriller, THE DEATH LIST, is a consuming ride that will keep the reader guessing until the very end. It is full of murder and mayhem.

Writer Matt Stone is looking for a good story when an email gives him the perfect opportunity. The only cost is the lives of everyone he holds dear—perhaps even his own.

The plot is catching—it ran away with me from the first chapter, and with many twists didn't let me go until the last page. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong.

The characters are well thought out and multidimensional. I truly felt for Matt when things started to go wrong for him and people close to him were being murdered.

This book would be a compliment to any personal library, but you better have plenty of time to read it, because you won't want to put it down.
