RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

When I receive an ebook, I take a quick look at it to make sure the whole file arrives intact. That's just what I did this afternoon when I moved FOXFIRE from my desktop computer to my laptop. I opened it, saw the first page was there and scrolled through until I saw the final page was there, too. Then I went back to the opening page of FOXFIRE and read it. And that was the action that changed my afternoon. Because, you see, I hadn't planned on reading Carol Ann Erhardt's novel today. No, I had other things in mind for this snowy Sunday afternoon, but once I read the first page I was hooked. Chapter One became Chapter Two, Chapter Two ran right into Chapter Three and so on... until I was, two hours later, back on the final page. Only this time, I had a smile on my face. I had just spent a wonderful few hours lost in the romantic, albeit suspenseful, world of Foxfire, Tennessee.

FOXFIRE is a story of love and intrigue, friendship and trust and perhaps most importantly, good versus evil. Until Grace Wilkens, a woman desperately trying to run from her past, comes to town, Foxfire is the kind of place where nothing bad ever happens. It is filled with people who aren't afraid to help each other when times get tough, who welcome newcomers with open arms and who don't shy from those who are a bit different from themselves. All are welcome in the small spot nestled in the mountains. All, that is, except a man who arrives with the sole intention of harming Grace.

Carol Ann Erhardt's FOXFIRE is a story that pulled me in and held me spellbound. I sighed deeply as I read the last word as I knew I'd just been in the presence of a gifted storyteller. I whole-heartedly recommend this book to anyone who yearns for a bit of romance and intrigue. You won't be disappointed.
