BLOOD LINES Author: Eileen Wilkes ISBN: 0425213447 1/2007 PARANORMAL Publisher: BERKLEY SENSATION
Having never read anything from Eileen Wilkes, I admit I am pleasantly surprised by her storytelling. Especially when sometimes I feel hard-pressed to find a unique paranormal. Believe me, the old adage of "too much of a good thing" is true. Despite that, I can honestly say the characters are done well, and I will mention they are a group rather than one leading lady and man, and so is the plot(s). I don't get some of the terms and magic, but I like it anyway. I also don't quite understand what happens in the end but I suspect that is because it is not quite the end. Anyway, I do wish I had read BLOOD LINES' predecessor first, but I don't feel totally left out by just reading this one. I have no doubt there will be another one after it as well. Shannon Johnson |
