Knight's Treasure by Amanda Scott

Abducted from her first wedding and widowed an hour after her second, Lady Adela Macleod, the unluckiest bride ever, has given up all hope of finding true love…until one moonless night when an unseen stranger's heart-melting voice and fiery kiss stir passions she has never known.

Adela is no stranger to Sir Robert Logan, Knight Templar. Having abandoned his heritage to protect a vital family secret, and sworn to protect the Templar treasure, Rob is in no position to pursue the fascinating lass he once rescued. But then murder forces the issue. When enemies trying to seize both the treasure and the Scottish government accuse Adela of killing her husband, Rob is irresistibly drawn to defend her. Together they will risk everything—even their love—to protect Scotland's future…and their own…

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

There is a very good reason why I have a dozen of Amanda Scott's books on my keeper shelves. It is because she is a flawless writer who captivates me every time.

Lady Adela Macleod is a beautiful woman who has a hard time getting married. She has got to be the most talked about woman in the Highlands. Her first wedding was a sham with a ruthless madman taking her prisoner, and now, when she has finally come home and her gracious bridegroom has decided he will still marry her, he dies on their wedding day... at the table during the feast. Adela is beside herself and has no idea what she will do now. She has people coming to her at every opportunity to give her advice on what to do and it is driving her crazy. Being a Macleod and coming by her stubbornness honestly, she does the only thing she can, which is to flout convention and tell everyone to back off. On one of her soul searching excursions late one night, she meets a stranger in the darkness, and even though she has never seen his face, his voice sounds familiar and beautiful, and somehow he is the only person who can make her feel better after all she has been through.

Rob. Oh, Dear Lord, the man is wonderful. If he was my hero, I think I would simply swoon. But again, Adela is a Macleod, so she has to be as stubborn as possible before finally letting herself love this beautiful hunk of a man. He is the kind of knight that every little girl dreams of, charging to the rescue for Adela regardless of the consequences... not that she believes she needs any rescuing, let me tell you.

Rob and Adela have a wonderful romance and a powerful love that brought tears to my eyes. I love reading about all of the Macleods, who have all become old friends to me at this point, but I was completely enthralled with Rob and Adela and the beautiful love that developed between them while I was reading.

Amanda Scott is once again at her best with KNIGHT'S TREASURE. Fans of Amanda Scott and the Macleod family will love this addition to the keeper shelves.
