Blind Justice by Kelsey George

A serial killer in Rocklynne, Oregon, has been dubbed "The Preacher". He kills in the name of Satan yet considers himself the son of God. He believes he cannot be caught - he's gotten away with eight so far and there are more to come.

He does have an edge - he knows the police department's every move before they even make it.

Gifted psychic Norrie Benedict knows she must stop him. She makes it her job to help Lieutenant Dylan Jones and Detective Brandon Hawke catch the murdering madman. With these two men protecting her, Norrie makes mental contact with the Preacher, hoping she can stop him before he kills again, or at least disclose his true identity. She doesn't learn much.

Trouble is, the Preacher wants Norrie as his next victim.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

BLIND JUSTICE, Kelsy George's first novel, is being released soon in trade paperback.

Norrie Benedict is a late bloomer who was still living with her parents at age twenty-eight. The three were in a terrible accident three years before the story begins. Norrie's parents died and her injuries resulted in near blindness. At the same time her psychic abilities increased, and she has become a consultant to a Canadian police department.

A serial killer named "The Preacher" is on the prowl locally, and has killed close to ten women by the time the story begins. Lieutenant Dylan Jones brings Norrie in on the case. She has a terrible crush on him, and it makes focusing difficult, especially since it seems that he might reciprocate. However, the emanations from a crime scene are powerful. She helps out on the case as the murders continue and escalate and faces great personal risk, especially since she seems to be the only person with any insight. Eventually The Preacher makes mind contact with Norrie and starts to stalk her.

The events of the case keep interfering in the growth of her relationship with Dylan. While he doesn't treat her well at times, he is under a lot of stress from the investigation, and Norrie is certainly a handful. There is a plot twist that might be uncomfortable to a romance reader, but all works out for Norrie in the end. BLIND JUSTICE is a taut, suspenseful thriller with a little romance thrown in.
