FOOLISH NOTIONS Author: Aris Whittier ISBN: 1594145849 4/2007 CONTEMPORARY Publisher: GALE GROUP/FIVE STAR
Aris Whittier's new release, FOOLISH NOTIONS, is an old-fashioned romance with a contemporary twist. All I can say is that it is one of those books that once you get done reading it, you'll want to pick it back up and read it all over again! Aris Whittier introduces us to James Taylor and his mother, Marie, right on the first page. Marie recently moved in with newly single James because she is going to be requiring around-the-clock care soon as a result of her chemotherapy treatments. Both Marie and James are interviewing nurses to stay with them, but none seem to be good enough. However, there is one that is perfect, but it happens to be James' ex-girlfriend, Samantha. Samantha is the love of James' life, but when he was caught embracing another woman, she left him. Although it wasn't what it appeared to be, he never had the chance to explain himself to her. He is still deeply in love with her, but the thought of calling her and asking her to be their live-in nurse until Marie is better is just too much for him to handle. When Samantha gets a call from James, she almost refuses the job. Living under the same roof with James, as she once had, is surely going to bring back unwanted memories of their time together. However, her love for Marie is strong enough to make her accept the job and all that may come with it. As Samantha begins to take care of Marie, her relationship with James is becoming increasingly complicated. It's quite obvious that they both still want each other, but there are many issues still unresolved between them. I know that the plot is on the simple side, but the characters make this story unforgettable. Aris Whittier gave her readers a heart-warming romance in her new release, FOOLISH NOTIONS. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I hope that you get the chance to read it, too. A definite recommended read! Julie Kornhausl |
