I'm the Vampire, That's Why by Michele Bardsley

Does drinking blood make me a bad mother?

Broken Heart is the city with the highest rate of divorce and highest percentage of single parents in Oklahoma. And I, Jessica Matthews, have been a member of that club ever since my husband dumped me for his twentysomething secretary and then had the gall to die in a car accident.

Now I'm not just a single mother trying to make ends meet in this crazy world.... I'm also a vampire. One minute I was taking out the garbage; the next I awoke sucking on the thigh of superhot vampire Patrick O'Halloran.

But though my stretch marks have disappeared and my vision has improved, I can't rest until the thing that did this to me is caught. My kids' future is at stake... as is my sex life. Once a vampire does the dirty deed, it hitches her to the object of her affection for at least one hundred years. I just don't know if I'm ready for that kind of commitment....

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

If you're a fan of paranormals, Michele Bardsley's I'M THE VAMPIRE, THAT'S WHY is not to be missed. This book is the best mix of paranormal, humor and sex that I have read in a long time. Every page had me either laughing out loud or a bit turned on!

I have to start off by saying that Michele just created a vampire-licious hero that I will no doubt dream about for a long time. His name is Patrick, he is an Irish vampire and he is hot, sexy and sensitive (did I mention hot?). Kudos goes out to Michele for creating a marvelous story about how he became a vampire. I loved his history and how you can't help but feel so much empathy toward him and his brother.

The real hero of the book is Jessica Matthews, a widowed mother of two who has become a vampire-widowed mother of two. She is a fantastic character and the perfect soul mate to Patrick. She is strong, caring, witty and mad as—well, you can just imagine how mad she is at becoming a vampire. She had some great one-liners!

Let me talk about great one-liners for a minute. The best one-liner I have read comes from this book and I quote, "If this was heaven there'd be more naked men."

I can't say enough about how much I love Michele Bardsley's I'M THE VAMPIRE, THAT'S WHY. There's so much going on with the plot, but yet somehow Michele never gets off track and she manages to keep the storyline running smooth. There's an incredible love story between Jessica and Patrick, a vicious killer on the loose and a group of wayward vampires on the prowl. Aside from all that, there are some pretty funny moments and also some pretty scary ones, too. All of these elements come together to make this book a fantastic read!

I'M THE VAMPIRE, THAT'S WHY is definitely a book not to miss. For an added bonus, Michele keep this story going next year with the follow up release, DON'T TALK BACK TO YOUR VAMPIRE.
