The Boss's Convenient Bride by Jennie Adams

A nine-to-five marriage arrangement... Claire Dalgliesh is shocked--no, stunned--when her cool, controlled boss declares that he needs a convenient wife--and the woman he's selected for the job is her! Claire may have a crush the size of Australia on her gorgeous boss, Nicholas Monroe, but she's not going to walk up the aisle with him. Not without love. Claire soon discovers she has no choice but to throw herself headlong into the wedding preparations. But what will Nicholas do when he discovers Claire's secret:that she has no intention of becoming his wife...?

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Australian Claire Dalgliesh is given a rare opportunity to move from the temp pool to the executive suite when her company owner's assistant falls ill. The owner, devastatingly handsome Nicholas Monroe, has decided it is time to stop the irritations involved in being a top bachelor, and fixes on his efficient temporary assistant. She will make the perfect wife. He gives her two options: marry him, or go back to the temp pool. Claire needs the greater salary of the temporary assistant so desperately she gives into his demands. Nicholas is cold but sensual, and she tries to postpone the marriage and any lovemaking as long as possible so as to pay off her debts before she can cancel the engagement. Unfortunately, he has other ideas. Though his parent's bitter divorce put his heart into hiding, he truly wants a connection with Claire.

Obviously, this book has the traditional alpha-male who needs redeeming, and the plucky but easily-overwhelmed heroine. If that's your thing, this September release from Silhouette Romance will be just your ticket to enjoyment. Jennie Adams' first book is intelligently, compellingly plotted and you can really put yourself in Claire's shoes. If you've run across this book before, it's because Mills & Boon originally released it last year.
