Wolf's Temptation by Donna Birdsell

Out to prove he hasn't lost his edge, spymaster Ethan Gray—known as the Wolf—is on the hunt for a smuggler shipping arms to colonial rebels in America. Instead, he finds himself frustrated at every turn by a mysterious woman whom he can only recognize by the scent she leaves behind...

Maris Winter, a spy who goes by the name Raven, has spent her life admiring Ethan Gray—the brave, dashing rake who once risked his life to try to save her father's. But when she's assigned to work closely with him, he turns from champion to rival. For it is of utmost importance that she protect the very man the Wolf is stalking, even if it means betraying her new partner, and her country. But it isn't long before she is forced to decide if her loyalty lies with her past—or with the man who has stolen her heart...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

WOLF'S TEMPTATION, the newest release from Donna Birdsell, is a definite page-turner! It is an intelligent mix of romance and espionage set in 1777 London. Be prepared to fall in love and watch your back at the same time!

Donna Birdsell created the perfect hero and heroine. Both are strong, passionate and fiercely loyal. They compliment each other perfectly. Ethan Gray, aka The Wolf, and Maris Winter, aka The Raven, are both spies working for the Anti-British Activity Committee. Whether both are loyal to this committee will be found out later in the story.

Unwilling to work together at first, Gray and Maris find that they do indeed work well together, but their increasing attraction toward one another is a hindrance to their own personal plights. You can't stop faith, and that is what seems to be keeping Maris and Ethan together. However, Maris is hiding a terrible secret that could not only cost her her life, but also the fragile relationship she has built with Ethan.

Donna Birdsell is going to grab your attention from the beginning with a unique plot and strong characters. Birdsell pens this story of espionage and love that will keep the romance reader turning the pages until the book is finished. Not only that, but the ending is a cliffhanger that you don't see coming!

Donna Birdsell's WOLF'S TEMPTATION is a satisfying departure from the average historical romance, and one that I think you will enjoy reading.
