Hired Gun by Bobbi Smith

Trent Marshall was a hard man. Life had made him that way. Ever since his older brother had been shot down in cold blood, he'd pursued justice with only his Colt .45 revolver to back him up. So when he agreed to go after a young girl abducted by the Apache, he knew he had tracking skills, years of experience, and iron determination on his side. What he didn't anticipate was having the victim's older sister beside him every step of the way. Faith Ryan fired his blood like no other woman. As they penetrated deeper and deeper into the wilderness, Trent knew he could not resist the primitive urge to make her his own, to take on a much more intimate role than…Hired Gun.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Bobbi Smith knows how to write westerns, and her new release, HIRED GUN, is no exception. Although not as sexy as her previous books, HIRED GUN still packs a punch when it comes to romance and adventure.

HIRED GUN tells the story of the Ryan family. Faith, Abbie and Mason have been running the ranch since their parents died. When Abbie and Mason encounter renegade Apache Indians, Mason gets shot and Abbie gets kidnapped. Now, Faith will do whatever she can to heal Mason and find Abbie.

Trent Marshall is the best hired gun in Texas. When he learns about Abbie's kidnapping, he agrees to meet with Faith and offer himself up for the job. What he doesn't realize is Faith is the same beautiful woman he danced with the previous night and that she's as stubborn as a mule.

Faith agrees to hire him and plans on riding out with him to find Abbie. Trent, who always works alone, is now going to be tracking the Apache with three other people—one being Faith.

As the days pass, Trent is impressed with Faith's determination and compassion, and soon they realize that they share a common affection for each other. However, their feelings must be pushed aside until they find Abbie. Poor Abbie, being beaten and abused by the Apache, one can only hope that she is found soon.

HIRED GUN was a bit predictable, but still enjoyable nevertheless. Bobbie Smith writes exciting westerns with sexy heroes and brazen heroines. Although this book isn't one of my favorite books written by her, it's still a recommended read, especially for all the western romance readers.
