DIRTY LAUNDRY Author: Tori Carrington ISBN: 0765312417 5/2006 CONTEMPORARY Publisher: TOR/FORGE
I found DIRTY LAUNDRY to be exactly as I expected—a zany adventure with some mystery suspense thrown in on the side. Overall, I will say that I enjoyed reading it, but I didn't find it as entertaining as the first book. Some of the "jokes" got old very fast and I ended up cringing every time one Muffy the dog's gas problem was mentioned. The mystery itself is adequate, and will keep the reader turning the pages to discover what happened to Uncle Tolly. The would-be relationship between Sofie and mysterious Aussie, Jake, heats up another notch, but still leaves the reader wanting more. With the introduction of another man for Sofie, this time a Greek baker, Dino, the bricks are laid for a possible triangle story line in future books. Fans of the first book will devour this one and be eagerly awaiting the third. Recommended. Kendra Patterson |
