PRINCE OF DANGER Author: Amanda Scott ISBN: 0446616680 11/2005 HISTORICAL Publisher: WARNER FOREVER
I am not sure if perfection can be improved upon, but that is exactly what Amanda Scott has done in her latest offering. If anyone remembers my review of LORD OF THE ISLES, the book that precedes PRINCE OF DANGER, you will remember that I loved it wholeheartedly. PRINCE OF DANGER is even better than LORD OF THE ISLES, if that is possible. When Lady Isobel stumbles upon a group of men beating Michael St. Clair, she does the first thing that comes to mind—she acts impetuously by running to his rescue. She would never think to do otherwise. She is stunning and vibrant and my favorite heroine of Amanda Scott's to date. Isobel never hesitates, she just sees a man in need and she goes to him, with no thought to her reputation or the danger she may be putting herself in. Luckily, Michael is a man worthy of Isobel's help. He is a courageous, strong man, who does not condemn Isobel for her strong spirit and her willfulness, but rather he embraces it, making for a wonderfully accepting hero who is enthralled with Isobel from the moment he looks into her eyes. I always grab Amanda Scott's books as soon as they hit the shelves, and I love every one of them. Amanda Scott is a phenomenal writer who I look forward to traveling with in her magical world of medieval Scotland, letting the ride take me where it will. Kristal Gorman |
