Every Boy's Got One by Meg Cabot

From the Travel Diary of Jane Harris:

I'm so excited I can barely write. Holly and Mark are doing it at last! Eloping, I mean. In ITALY ! And Holly's asked me to come along as her bridesmaid. I'm FINALLY leaving the continental United States . Who's going to take care of my cat while I'm gone? Do they have cheese popcorn in Italy ? . . .

I can't believe New York Journal reporter Cal Langdon is really Mark's best friend and best man. He's rude. Arrogant. And completely anti-marriage! He thinks Mark's making a huge mistake. And I have to share a house in the Umbrian countryside with him-for AN ENTIRE WEEK! I'm not in paradiseI'm in hell! . . .

Talk about wedding bell blues! The Italian government won't marry Holly and Mark without a special form! It's up to Cal and me to save the day . . . which means I'll be stuck in a car with him for HOURS on our way to Rome . . . him and his piercing blue eyes and that bod that looks way too sexy in those beat-up jeans. . . . But I guess these are the kind of sacrifices you have to make for love!

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:Top Pick Award

Loosely based on Ms. Cabot’s own experiences, EVERY BOY’S GOT ONE tells the story of Jane Harris. Jane’s very excited about taking her first international trip to Italy to witness the elopement of her best friend, Holly. From the minute we are introduced to Jane, she is bordering on the ridiculous, highly excitable and energized. In contrast, Cal, the best man, is introduced as a sophisticated, blasé and experienced world traveler. This only makes Jane’s silly actions and comments even more pronounced. Needless to say, Jane and Cal take an immediate dislike of each other and the sparks fly from there.

As a huge fan of Ms. Cabot’s books, my expectations were high for EVERY BOY’S GOT ONE, and it didn’t disappoint. All of the things I’ve come to expect from Cabot were present – a witty heroine, a fast-paced and hilarious plot, and quirky secondary characters. I had just an out and out great time visiting Jane, Cal and company, and I highly recommend EVERY BOY’S GOT ONE for fans of romantic comedy.
