Working undercover for the Department of Natural Resources, Nick Seek shows up late one night in a small town in the Missouri Ozarks. She claims she's there to check up on her aunt but she's really there to investigate an ecoterrorist group harassing her Uncle Dexter and threatening her own work with the DNR. The game becomes much more dangerous when Dexter is found hanging from a tree, murdered, and her Aunt Jessie has disappeared.
