Sam Mendenhall left for the Army right out of high school, begging Beth Simon to marry him and go with him. On the advice of her older sister, Beth stayed at home and within months, Sam married another girl. That was sixteen years ago. Now back in Heart Lake, after being injured in Afghanistan, Sam returns home to become the town constable.

Beth Simon returned to her beloved family home to turn it into a bed and breakfast, ending her relationship with her abusive boyfriend in California. Before she can settle in, someone begins to vandalize her home. Sam comes to her rescue more than once, as he tries to solve the mysteries of missing items around town and who is trying to drive Beth out of her home.

In SAY IT AGAIN, SAM, Sam and Beth come full circle to rediscover their lost love, determined not to let it slip away this time. Beth seems to let others lead her life, first her older sister, then her ex-boyfriend Danny. She has to come home to find where she really belongs.

I always look forward to a new Mary McBride book as her stories are always full of humor and sweet sentiment. Readers will be charmed by Sam as he wins his sweetheart back. I high recommend SAY IT AGAIN, SAM.
