The Scarlet Empress by Susan Grant

The Kingdom of Asia: Shot down over Korea, modern-day U.S.A.F. fighter pilot Cameron “Scarlet” Tucker is put in bio-stasis. She wakes 170 years later to find her best friend survived, too—the “legendary” Banzai Maguire is being held for treason in theU.C.E., the country that was once her beloved United States.

Cam has her own problems. She’s in the masterful hands of Kyber, the emperor prince whom Banzai just escaped. And he won’t get fooled again. With a mysterious Shadow Voice urging world revolution, and her friend in chains, Cam wants the sexy dictator on her side—and maybe even closer. But her role in the thrilling mission to save her country must come first. Banzai wouldn't surrender, and Cam won't either. It’s time to give a royal butt-kicking, and Cam knows just where to start.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

Few things in this world inspire me like a good novel about strong women. THE SCARLET EMPRESS is the conclusion in the 2176 series, and it is a wonderful way to end the series. Cameron “Scarlet” Tucker and Bree “Banzai” Maguire are fighter pilots who have been in bio-stasis for over a hundred and fifty years. Bree is awakened first and has her own adventures. This novel tells the story of Cam’s awakening in 2176 and the events that follow, including what is going on in Bree’s life.

Susan Grant has written an incredible novel with great characters. Bree and Ty make appearances as well as Kyber, the wickedly handsome prince who held Bree and Ty for a time, and now has Scarlet. I found this novel to be very inspirational. Bree and Cam are very strong women with a lot of heart and courage. They are willing to risk their lives for freedom and each other. We also see Ty’s father Aaron Armstrong and he is just as devious as he has ever been. The Shadow Voice or Voice or Freedom also makes an appearance, and I was completely shocked to find out who was behind that. I applaud Susan Grant for a well written and very entertaining novel.
