The Man for the Job by Marie-Nicole Ryan

Ex-police detective Mike Carlton considers bodyguard work a necessary evil--it pays the bills.  But he changes his mind as soon as attorney Gwyn Wells waltzes into his office.

A stalker?  Yes, he'll guard her all night long if necessary.  All he has to do is convince her he's THE MAN FOR THE JOB… and for her.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:Top Pick Award

THE MAN FOR THE JOB is just fantastic ...on a number of levels. This story sparkles with a great romance, gobs of humor, intriguing characters, non-stop action and a cleverly done murder mystery.

Beautifully executed, The Man For The Job is packed with a cast of wonderfully flawed, deliciously complex characters. Mike Carlton, the hero, and his heroine, Gwyneth Wells, are the highlight of this story that boasts a fabulous array of robustly detailed characters - including a crusty ex-CIA agent, his oh-so-proper aristocratic English wife, a determined mobster, a habitual widow (accurately dubbed the Black Widow) and a redneck sheriff.

This 'clutter' of characters compliments the story instead of distracting from it as Ms. Ryan skillfully manuevers the reader through the maze. Likewise, the focus from stalker to murderer and back again is brilliantly handled without disrupting the flow of this story.

With most of the story taking place within a weekend house party, THE MAN FOR THE JOB is reminiscent of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot stories. A Poirot with lots of humor. Ms. Ryan seems to have had as much fun writing this story as a reader will have devouring it.

THE MAN FOR THE JOB is a real charmer. A romantic suspense to be relished for the top-notch entertainment it is.
