Sue's Clues Book Contest -- Sherrilyn Kenyon

When you visit Sherrilyn Kenyon's website, you will see the greeting, "Welcome to my worlds..." And, no, the plural of world is not a typo. I can't think of a more appropriate intro to this writer. She really does have numerous worlds to which she takes her readers. So many worlds, in fact, that she has become two authors. Sherrilyn is also known as the historical novelist, Kinley MacGregor.

As many of her fans already know, Sherrilyn grew up in a big family; in the middle of eight boys. Now she lives outside of Nashville, TN with her husband and own 3 boys. Her first book was published in 1994, PARADISE CITY. The book that really got everyone's attention,however, was BORN OF THE NIGHT. BORN OF THE NIGHT, while published after PARADISE CITY and DAEMON'S ANGEL, was the first book she ever sold.

"The idea for this book came from my childhood playmates. Nykyrian and Rachol really have been with me that long. The novel itself was started in 3rd grade under the title Raven's Cry. Over the years, it underwent numerous changes. I was actually on the verge of finishing it up when my older brother was killed. I put it aside for a number of years and then in 1991, I returned to the idea and started it over."

While writing these books, she found time to release 3 non-fiction books that I am sure are a great source of reference for other authors. CHARACTER-NAMING SOURCE BOOK, EVERYDAY LIFE IN THE MIDDLE AGES, and WRITER'S COMPLETE FANTASY REFERENCE were all published by Writer's Digest in 1994,1995, and 1996 respectively. 1999 is the year that Kinley MacGregor was born with the publication of MASTER OF SEDUCTION.

A pirate novel that was quickly followed by MASTER OF DESIRE and A PIRATE OF HER OWN. All, as you might guess, are novels of romance on the high seas. I can personally tell you these books will "shiver yer timbers."

Over the years, Sherrilyn has gained a reputation as an author who writes books for readers who want their stories hot and intense, with sexy men and women who are often quirky but could be any one of us.

She is reknown for her Dark Hunter series and her historical MacAllister series, but there are more books to this lady's repetoire. There are the Sex Camp Diaries, The League series, The Brotherhood of the Sword series plus her contributions to numerous anthologies.

Aside from the 3 Dark Hunter books being released in 2005, the Kinley MacGregor historical, and another anthology novella, we will be introduced to a new world: THE LORDS OF AVALON. A world of Myth and Magic; of Knights and Sorcerers. That will be launched in May and I cannot wait to see what treat this gifted writer has in store for us.

But I strongly suggest you plan on being there for a while. There is just so much to check out on the site that you won't even notice the time slipping by.
