And our Sue's Clues Mystery Author is:

Jacquie D'Alessandro is a familiar name to many an avid romance reader. From historical to contemporary romance, her highly anticipated books receive high praise from both fans and reviewers alike.

Jacquie has been writing since 1999 when her first book, RED ROSES MEAN LOVE was published. Since then she has written five novels with her sixth one, IN OVER HIS HEAD, her first Harlequin Temptation, hitting the bookstores next month. In September 2003, her first Avon book, WHO WILL TAKE THIS MAN?, will be released followed by her second Harlequin Temptation in December 2003.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Jacquie now lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her hero of a husband and her son, a dashing rogue in the making. She originally worked in the airline industry but decided when her son was born she would spend time with him at home. It was this decision that eventually became the perfect avenue for her to pursue writing. And her “whirlwind” writing career was soon underway. She joined RWA and attended conferences and workshops in an effort to learn all she could about writing. Her efforts were not in vain.

Jacquie writes wonderfully witty dialogue and creates all the emotional angst to truly give her readers the roller coaster ride so loved in her novels. Her heroes and heroines are funny yet intelligent characters and the endings are those that make readers sigh and remember again and again why they love reading romance novels. She is truly gifted in bringing life to her characters and pulling her readers into the story, whether it is Regency England or today’s fast paced world. This author definitely breathes fresh air into an industry that is already loaded with talented authors, and stories that are forever retold. Her love for her work is reflected throughout. In her own words, as she stated in an RBL Romantica interview,

Quote:

"Writing is what makes us writers - not whether or not we're published. I was a writer long before I signed a publishing contract, and even if I'd never seen that contract, I'd still be a writer. Why? Because I write. If I'm lucky enough that an editor wants to buy what I've written, that's great. But even if she doesn't, I'm still a writer."

~Jacquie D’Allesandro

What a wonderful, heartfelt attitude; it obviously influences the writer she is today.
